Since 1880 we have been growing the best Sicilian grapes and today we are leaders in the production of white and red wines, wines of Pantelleria and Marsala. A long family history made of respect, care, love and dedication, of values handed down from father to son, which today make us one of the greatest families of Sicilian wine. In fact, since the beginning we have always personally managed the activities in the vineyard and in the winery and even today, at the sixth generation, our family is daily involved in the management of the company. The Pellegrino vineyards are located in the westernmost part of Sicily, the most vine-planted and suitable area in Italy. In these territories we cultivate the native Sicilian vines: grillo, inzolia, catarratto, zibibbo, malvasia, nero d'avola and frappato, here always used for the production of great wines. Thanks to different cultivation areas, three specialized oenologists and three different wineries – Cardilla for white and red wines, Pantelleria for the wines, muscat and passito of the island, Marsala for the homonymous wine and liqueurs – we are now able to offer the widest variety of types of Sicilian wines, with a highly specialized approach along the entire supply chain, aimed at obtaining the best for each production, from the vineyard to the bottle. The relationship with the Sicilian territory has always been the cornerstone of the production philosophy of our company. Therefore, we are committed to safeguarding the territory in which we operate, we grow the grapes in our estates exclusively with organic method and we are open to innovation and research. This vision is implemented in all areas of production and translates into multiple green-oriented choices, including waste management, the containment of all forms of pollution, the agronomic use of wastewater, the use of photovoltaics, but also the use of recyclable materials and the reuse of glass obtained from bottles.

AIR indicator reflects the total greenhouse gas emission directly or indirectly associated with the company activities (GHG Inventory).
Total emissions are divided into six categories: Category 1 – Direct GHG emissions; Category 2 – Indirect GHG emissions from imported energy; Category 3 – Indirect GHG emissions from transportation; Category 4 – Indirect GHG emissions from products used by organization; Category 5 – Indirect GHG emissions associated with the use of products from the organization (NS=Non Significant as outside the reporting boundaries); Category 6 – Indirect GHG emissions from other sources.
The result is graphically represented by the ring in which the colored segments represent the contribution of each Category.

The WATER indicator expresses the potential environmental impacts resulting from the use of fresh water. It takes into account the water directly consumed and polluted by the activities that the company carries out, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, during a calendar year. These impacts are evaluated by two indicators: in particular, water scarcity (Direct Water Scarcity Footprint) depends on the water drawn from water bodies, while the estimate of the qualitative degradation of water (Non-Comprehensive Direct Water Degradation Footprint) derives from processes of re-naturalization of the water bodies.

TERRITORY indicator assesses the impact of winery's activities on its surrounding area and local community. This includes: the impact on surrounding biodiversity, taking also into account initiatives carried out by the wine company to protect and preserve the environment; the social and economic impact on local workforce (both in terms of job creation and job quality); the impact on local communities that is producers and consumers. Such indicator analyses whether the winery has respected the socio-economic parameters required by the project.
