Castello di Bossi stands at the center of the estate, located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The first tower was built around 1099, later in 1450 it became a defensive quadrilateral shape. It covers 500 ha of land, 120 ha of which are planted with vineyards. The average altitude of the vineyards is about 350 meters above sea level, and their exposure rotates from southeast to west. Sangiovese is the main grape. Other varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Noir are also planted. Sangiovese from Castelnuovo Berardenga, unlike other Chianti Classico areas, has a higher phenolic and tannic ripening due to the mild climate. Cabernet and Merlot were among the first planted in Chianti Classico about 40 years ago. The predominant soils are tuffs, yellow clays, silty sands, and broken stones
